18 months old

* sleeps like an angel * has 14 almost 16 teeth * runs fast! * loves books * loves curious george * hates to perform* loves talking on the phone* hates the doctor* loves rearranging my wallet * will go to anyone * loves being outside* wears my shoes * loves to brush her teeth* such an animated face *loves candy (canee)* has a fake giggle

The other day we were about to have lunch and Maggie was wanting something. I would ask her what she wanted and she would say something back. Then she asked for something else and I asked her a question. It was so odd I thought to myself, my baby and I are talking. ( probably only a way we could understand). It's so fun to see your baby turn into a toddler and learn new things. It's in the little things like when we're outside and she points to the sky and says " a (where's ) moon??" or when she wants to read her books herself ( i have to tell her what to say word by word), or when i say "let's go" she grabs my keys and reaches for the doorknob. She has such a fun personality and sure keeps us busy. Oh it's so fun!

first haircut

Now you're probably thinking to yourself, "What did you cut??" Although she doesn't have much hair to cut, it needed some trimming from random long pieces. So after almost 18 months of life, she had her first haircut! Grandma did a wonderful job!

The other day we decided to turn on a little Price is Right.

As soon as I did Maggie yells, "Daddy! Daddy!"

busybody

Nothing quite prepares you for a one and a half year old. They are everywhere! Maggie thinks she is so big and wants to do everything I am doing. For example, Mom is putting on makeup, Maggie wants makeup. Mom is in the shower, Maggie wants to get in too. I'm brushing my teeth and within minutes she is brushing hers. It's hard for me to get anything done lately. A while ago I was doing dishes. She'll stand below me pushing my legs away from the sink so I can stop and play with her. So here is Maggie doing dishes with Mom.

Yesterday I was trying to put together my grocery list. So I got out every pot and pan and some wooden spoons so she could go to town! Within a minute she is pushing my bum off the chair saying, "UP!" for ME to come do it with her.

After getting nothing down a few days ago on the computer for young women I went into our family where we came up with this.

She is at such a fun age right now... but man! I am wiped out at the end of every day!

This morning Maggie kept trying to reach for something on our dresser. She kept saying "apple". "What do you want?" I asked her. She kept saying apple reaching towards the dresser. There was clearly not an apple on our dresser so I tried to hand her my shiny watch... No. I tried her toothbrush... No. I notice the apple sign on Caden's iPad. "You want this?!"

My 16 month old response, "Hehehehe" grinning from ear to ear. That was it!

Our Home

Did I mention we built a home??

We signed our papers and 80 days later we're living in our brand new home! It was so fun to drive by and see the progress each day. It's just around the corner from our apartment and the school Caden teaches at, so it's perfect.

The biggest change so far is that it has been so quiet! We're used to neighbors next to us and above us since we've been married, so it's nice we can watch movies, listen to music, do laundry and even talk whenever we want. I'm sure Caden's glad the home building is over with cause I kept changing my mind about colors and cabinets etc. It was a fun journey and I'm sure it's only the beginning with owning a home.

moments that make me laugh

Maggie was flipping through pages of our Ensign and there was a picture of Thomas S Monson. I asked her, "Who's this?"

She immediately tells me "Ta-ta" (Santa), with a huge smile on her face. I guess he is a "jolly" man, but it seems we're still a little in the Christmas spirit.

I kept telling her, "He's a prophet. Can you say prophet." "Ta-ta" she says.

Christmas!

Earlier during the Christmas week we celebrated my grandpa's 82nd Birthday! We have a big christmas dinner, sing songs and share stories about our Saviors birth. This family party always gets me ready for Christmas.

On Christmas Eve, after watching Maggie play a beautiful baby Jesus in the nativity at the Timms Christmas party with all of her cousins, some yummy food and gifts, we went to the Marks for a special surprise!

We were going to find out if baby Mark would be a BOY or GIRL!!

I first had a feeling it was going to be yet another boy, but inside I couldn't help but think it was really going to be a girl....

...it's a GIRL!

I couldn't be more happy for them! and E finally have a niece! and a friend for Maggie :)

Christmas day Maggie got spoiled not only by us, but family and grandparents!

It was such a blessing to celebrate Christmas on Sunday were we could attend church and partake of the sacrament. I'm grateful for the birth and life of our Savior and for the blessings I have in my life from Him.

Santa Clause is coming to town!

blue sucker

Yesterday, Maggie was snooping through my bag and found a blue sucker I probably got from the bank. I didn't think she could get it opened, but within 30 seconds the wrapper was off and she was sucking away. I mean why do they make blue suckers!!! Why can't they all be clear... I knew this was going to be a nightmare to take it away, so I allowed her a minute of enjoyment.

Until "mean mom" had to take it away...

For a nice distractions, I showed her how silly she looked with her blue tongue. She loved it!

27!!

Over the weekend we celebrated Caden's 27th birthday!

We had a yummy Sunday dinner with Dad Carl, a yummy breakfast meal and delicious cake (thanks mal!) with the fam in PG, and then following tradition, we went to Caden's favorite restaurant, Rodizio Grill.

This year the Poulsons came with us! Nolan is just 4 days older than Caden and we had to have the servers sing to them, drums and all! If Caden looks sick in these next pictures, it's because he was. He could hardly taste the food poor guy, but that didn't stop the night of fun!
